IELTS in Folkestone

Due to the overwhelming success of IELTS courses at Newbury this summer, My Guardians in partnership with OISE is now delighted to offer our clients the same course in Folkestone. Conveniently located on the beautiful South East coast of England, only a short journey away from London, Folkestone is an ideal location for an intensive IELTS Preparation Programme in the summer of 2010.
Ages: 14 – 17 year olds. Programme:  30 hours tuition per week. This programme focuses on the language skills required for success in the IELTS exam. Students study exam techniques and strategies and receive regular individualised feedback on progress and target specific areas for improvement. The timetable includes real-time practice and coaching in examination skills.
A typical day: 09:00 – 10:00 reading/weekly review | 10:10-11:10 writing/mock reading exam | 11:20-12:20 grammar/mock writing exam| 13:00-14:00 listening/mock listening exam | 14:15- 15:15 vocabulary | 15:45-16:45 short story reading & writing.
Students will spend the evening with their family. Students will be given approx. 1.5 hours homework per night.
Included in the course price: loan of all teaching materials, workbook and course certificate, homestay accommodation: full board, leisure activities, full day excursions on Saturdays, standard transfers on arrival & departure.
Location: Folkestone is a traditional seaside resort located in Kent on the south east coast of England near Dover. Fine beaches, a sunny climate, attractive gardens and friendly people make Folkestone the ideal place to learn English. The school is located in the west end of Folkestone. The grand Edwardian buildings on our quiet, leafy campus boast excellent facilities including light airy classrooms, recreation rooms and spacious outdoor areas.
Accommodation: Full board with a host family including breakfast, a packed lunch and an evening meal. All host families are carefully chosen. There will be no other student of the same mother tongue in the house. Excursions: every Saturday there is a full day excursion to a place of interest and fun.
Dates & fees 2010: 30.05 – 11.07.  Homestay £4,980, 11.07 – 22.08 Homestay £4,980. The price includes the cost of the exam.

One year GCSE course

The one year GCSE course is specially designed for overseas pupils. Girls will study for 5 or 6 GCSEs in addition to an English language qualification (either First Certificate or IGCSE English). A maximum of 25 girls will be admitted onto the course which runs alongside our GCSE course for UK pupils.
This is an exciting opportunity for overseas girls to enrol on a dedicated GCSE course which will cater for their English language skills in addition to their academic qualifications and pastoral needs.
Girls completing the one-year GCSE course will then be eligible to apply for a place in the School’s Sixth Form.
This course has proved very popular in previous years so it is essential that girls wishing to apply for a place on the one-year GCSE course for entry in September 2010 submit their applications as soon as possible. Places are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.

Book your Summer School Now!

Dear Visitors,

We just added a number of new pages to our website devoted to Free Language School Placement for Young Learners as well as Professional Adults.  Pages are packed with useful information about what best Language Schools can offer you, and we hope you find this information useful.  Please do get in touch with us if you have any questions regarding choice of course or programme.

Just a reminder to all our website visitors that language schools here in England are starting to look busy from March onwards so if you have any enquires then please get in contact and we will reserve you a place for the appropriate course and centre.

The year has started off really well at OISE Oxford.  The atmosphere in school is fantastic with great nationality mix of students studying business, examination and general English courses.  Already several students are getting the necessary IELTS score to enter into English universities – and these are great success stories!  The student feedback on the new 2010 academic programmes has been really good.  The greater emphasis on presentation work has made a big difference to students’ confidence and ability in English.

Courses for Young learners are really popular and booking fast as well. Just a reminder that there are very few places remaining at Oxford on 11th July for the 2 week course, and places are filling up quickly for the 3 week course which begins on 25th July.  We recommend that bookings for this school are placed soon.

We are offering the Extended Programme at school in Nottingham, the home of Robin Hood, for two weeks starting on 4th and 18th of July, as well as for dates in August.  Places for Wycliffe are beginning to fill up, so we advise early registration in order to avoid disappointment later on.  Llandovery is a fantastic location in which to study, and its stunning scenery along with the nearby nature park provides a refreshing break for hard-working students.
